Scouts achieved heaps at the recent Ku-Ring-Gai District Scout Camp

15 scouts from our 2nd Turramurra Scout Unit attended the Ku-Ring-Gai District Scout Camp at Glenfield.

This was a 4 day competition event where scouts go back to basics,building their own camp sites including conmstruction  of:

  • A large dining table made from poles and ropes - Prize = "Tuck's Taut Table"
  • A massive entrance gate made from poles etc - they won the prize "Rusty Gate Award"
  • A suspended flagpole
  • Fire drums with supporting infrastructure
  • Bell tents
  • Lots of gadgets made from - you guessed it - poles and ropes

They also:

  • Cooked a fantastic 3 course meal for a guest judge (a leader from another group), in the Competition Dinner
  • Paticipated and won the Golden Boot award (in Frisby)
  • Tuck's activity "Devo - Whip It" - theme matched to 80's music and a Whipping Lashing ropes activity

 Well done all scouts that attended.
