Membership Explained
To REGISTER:
Current Youth age: will determine the fees applicable and the section (Unit) they will be in, when Registering for the first time. See Home page for age ranges per unit.
Various discounts may be available (see details below before registering).
Adult Leaders, Committee and Adult Helper members are free (conditions apply – see below).
New Youth Full Members also pay a one-off Scouts NSW Joining Fee - currently $60.
The Scouts NSW registration year is currently April to March.
- At the end of each registration year, all memberships are archived by Scouts NSW.
- Members must Register again at the start of each registration year (currently April and before Term 2 Starts)
- Returning Members: If you have been an active member, register as a Retuning Member, via the Registration page.
- Inactive Members: If you have been inactive for some time but want to return, register as a Retuning Member, via the Registration page. Your archived membership will be reactivated (this depends on your period away). Ask if any problems.
HOW:
- Go to our website (short URL: www.turrascouts.com)
- Click on top link: REGISTRATION
- Click on RETURNING MEMBER (Existing Full or Trial Members), or NEW MEMBER (starting a new Trial with Scouts NSW)
- Enter the Member Name & DOB to access your existing archived record.
- Returning Members will have their inactive profile restored - it's easy!

B: New Members: can choose to be a FULL (paid) Member or a TEMPORARY/TRIAL Member.
Temporary/Trial members:
- Currently we offer 4 attendances for new trial members who have never been members of Scouts NSW.
- The dates are chosen by parents during registration as a Trial member. Check these dates with leaders BEFORE submitting the registration. NOTE: Dates that have passed cannot be edited. Admins can edit future dates (only if more than 1 day ahead). Once the trial 4 dates have passed, the trial member MUST become a FULL Member before they can attend any future scout activity (to regain Scouts NSW Insurance).

C: Trial Members becoming Full Members:
- Once you have used your free trial sessions you must register as a Full Member. Your Trial Membership details are still in the Scouts NSW database and will be used during the registration process, therefore you cannot register as a new member but as a RETURNING MEMBER.
- Register as a Returning Member, via the Registration page. Choose Returning Member. You will receive a link to Register via Email.
- Once you register using the link you recieve, select "New Cub", "New Scout" etc. See section "HOW:" above.
- You will be asked to pay the fees applicable at that time. Various discounts are available – see below.
Notes:
- The Fees you pay include the Scouts NSW Fees and the 2nd Turramurra Group Fees (details below).
- Youth, Leaders and official Adult Helpers must be REGISTERED with Scouts NSW to attend any scouting activity like normal weekly activities. Our Membership Coordinator may email you further information.
DISCOUNTS:
Scouts NSW offers Payment Plans, Active Kids and Hardship provisions (must check and apply,before registering).
The 2nd Turramurra Scout Group Fee component offers various discounts:
1) Leader’s children Group Fee discount.
2) Committee members children's Group Fee discount.
3) Parents with Multiple Children in 2nd Turramurra will be offered a Group Fee discount.
Leaders and official Adult Helpers (WWCC and Application required) have their fees covered. (must check and apply, before registering).
Notes:
- Adult Helpers must complete some compulsory training.
- Only once Police Checks and the compulsory training are completed, can adults function in that role.
- It is expected that all Adult Helpers will volunteer plenty of their time to help our youth.
Contact our Membership Coordinator before registering if you fall into the discount categories above, to recieve your Discount Code to use at the time of Registration.
- The Scouts NSW fee is fixed and controlled by Scouts NSW. Pro-rata reductions sometimes occur throughout the registration year.
- The 2nd Turramurra Scout Group Fee component will be pro-rata reduced monthly over the registration year, on about the 1st of each month.
- Hardship provisions may be available on application directly to Scouts NSW. This must be organised before registering as Scouts NSW will NOT offer a refund after registering.
